@lowqualityfacts Interestingly, this policy was introduced in 1991 by Soviet president Gorbachev, who tried to placate the Politburo and prove he is not under western influence. It backfired, when Politburo members, enraged by having to learn what air conditioner is, started a coup. They only failed because of ceiling fan manufacturers' lobby.
