       @AbNormal Well, others may disagree, but: I would say that a clear connecting point is that science is constantly playing catch-up to magic. For some examples:Astrology—in the sense of an understanding of the stars, planets, etc. and an understanding that they influence life on Earth—predates astronomy and meteorology. The effects of the Sun and Moon were well-known to impact life on Earth well before it was understood that one was a star and one was a moon.Alchemy likewise predates chemistry. Divination predates statistics. Vision quests predate medical use of psychoactive drugs. This has always been the way of things, and I expect it always will be.Other than that, there not much in common from one to the next save a fundamental belief that the world is far more beautiful than one can experience with the physical senses alone.
