#Firefox desperately needs a toggle to keep your pinned tabs persistent. Accidentally open a new window and close them in the wrong order and POOF, all gone. Are there any workarounds for this?

@killyourfm Yeah, I know this one...The only move is "Chronic -> Recently closed Windows -> Reopen all recently closed Windows"...I remember fondly when they asked people if one wants to close a tab...

@killyourfm I only have a partial solution. If it happens you can ctrl-shift-n to reopen the last closed window. There is also a warning you can set up when you try to close multiple windows, but I don't think there is a specific one for pinned tabs.

@killyourfm Under History there's a Recently Closed Windows list you can reopen it with.

@killyourfm Meanwhile until you find a solution, I would just create a dedicated Bookmarks folder with tabs you intend to have always pinned (I can't live without pinned tabs too). So at least in case the pins poof again, you have them ready to open. Kinda a backup, but not ideal, as you have to keep the bookmarks in sync. Defeats the usability.Maybe this addon can help, but I did not use it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/persistentpin/

@killyourfm yes this is so annoying! It should be both trivial and obvious for #firefox to keep your pins alive 🤦

@killyourfm Isn't there a "closed window history"? (I'm using it all the time...)

@theron29 Yes but I had closed just enough that the one with the pinned tabs wasn't in there to restore.

@thingsiplay Thank you that's a GREAT suggestion to have them in a separate bookmarks folder.

@killyourfm I'm sort of a keyboard junkie. I love using alt+n to switch to the nth tab (alt+9 for the right-most tab), and try to know about all the shortcuts I can ⌨️

@killyourfm @thingsiplay containerized pinned tabs is another story, PersistentPin tends to remove them on install https://github.com/Faerbit/persistentpin-webextension/issues/5

@killyourfm you can reopen the browser and then press Ctrl+Shift+T to reopen the older windows with the respective group of tabs.

@killyourfm My workaround for this is to click Settings --> History --> Recently Closed Windows, and just reopen the window you closed.

@killyourfm occasionally Firefox decides to reset my Firefox profile (about:profiles) and I lose everything, including pinned tabs and my nested tree-style tabs session which I keep nicely organized for work. This happened one too many times, so I wrote an rsync script to back up the firefox profile to `~/.local/share` and added it as a cron job to run 3 times a day.Clearly not a real solution, but it's saved me several times now. At least it remembers which tabs were pinned, though.
