I just found out that the #US #Spelling of ogre is O - G - R - E.Not E - R.So what's so special about the word ogre? Why do centre and metre get changed?

@lydiaconwell @pootriarch I was hopeful "ogre" would have an interesting origin, but it's ultimately unknown. It may come from the Latin "Orcus" meaning "Hades."https://www.etymonline.com/search?q=ogre
