       I did the thing where you fully disassemble your goddamned mechanical keyboard, soak the keys, and blast the switches.(turns out that you can and should do the latter with a leaf blower.)it was absolutely disgusting.

       probably the strongest argument I've yet encountered for why regular, reasonable computer users should *not* opt for a mechanical keyboard.
