       it would be incredibly useful if i had some kind of tool that allowed me, on my desktop computer, to click in a window, and capture all inputsand somehow forward those to a ps/2 port of another machine

       @linear the "ps2dev" library on Arduino looks like it could do something pretty close, you'd just have to make the program send scan codes over serial from the host machinehttps://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/15534/arduino-ps-2-keyboard-emulator-issues I know it's usually not recommended to base your code off of the /question/ part of stack exchange articles, but it looks like a good jumping off point

       i don't need a kvm, i have enough monitors, i just need to be able to share my keyboard across them (and no, inputleap (formerly barrier) is not sufficient until someone ports it to DOS and also mac os 7.1 and, look, i just haven't gotten around to that yet okay???)
