I remember I've passed my Baccalauréat exam (mathematical series) with an unadapted calculator. It was a Psion Organizer II. This device, better for managing an agenda, computed cubes this way:=2**3 [enter]7.99999999999And I had to write a program to compute an approximation of arcsin, arccos and arctan functions. This was funny and I got the best result of Physical Science exam over my area (academy)...This was about 33 years ago.1/2

That proves that the best tool is not the one everybody uses, but the tool you master and like to use.2/2

@F1RUM I used my hp48 for everything, had calendar, personal notes, software and games on it. I loved that thing and loved writing rich mathematical/physics software for it in RPL. I can totally relate what you describe for the Psion you used.
