@rdela For what it's worth, this is what ChatGPT thinks it does. I don't know if it's accurate, but I'd bet that it is.

@bobmonsour All that and more is in the linked Stack Overflow answer, no “AI” required

@rdela I'm finding it very useful, but less so for this kind of thing...but more in explaining concepts and getting it to generate simple examples of things. I can use search for some of this, but that often involves trying to find an explanation that I can easily understand. I often try the docs for things first, but if I still don't get it, I'm finding the AI quite helpful.

@bobmonsour cool. I haven't experimented much myself but have been enjoying following along with all of @simon's adventures. I think, among other things, people have found certain LLMs to excel at writing cumbersome SQL queries, like Simon has for @datasette

@bobmonsour @simon > Here are four illustrative examples of things I’ve used LLMs for as a huge productivity booster in just the past few weeks. https://simonwillison.net/2023/Apr/7/chatgpt-lies/#warn-off-or-help-on…from The Changelog podcast: LLMs break the internet: https://simonwillison.net/2023/Apr/8/llms-break-the-internet/

@rdela @bobmonsour I used it for another little thing this morning - writing a very quick scraping script https://gist.github.com/simonw/ac671a9bdbda9f29dc5256511497bc1d

@simon One word...wow! Last week, I was using Co-Pilot in VS Code and I wrote several lines of comment describing the code I was going to write. But before I could finish the comment, Co-Pilot showed me the simple 6 lines that I would have written anyway (without the typos I might have inserted). And I agree with your notion that it makes one feel more ambitious about the kinds of projects one can take on. Thanks!
