Big time, mostly #RepublcanCorruption. Defense companies' lobbyists primarily fund GOP lawmakers: Military contractors overcharge the Pentagon on almost everything the DOD buys each year, experts told 60 Minutes investigation into price gouging. In March, Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks announced the largest Pentagon budget ever: $842 BILLION. Almost half will go to defense contractors. Republicans always increase funding for DEF & usually reject oversight: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pentagon-budget-price-gouging-military-contractors-60-minutes-2023-05-21/

@KimPerales Then why do the Ds' keep voting in ever increasing and stupidly wasteful War Budgets every year if only the Rs' are owned by the War Contractors?

@KimPerales The Ds' are just as owned as the Rs' by the War Machine. Blue MAGA is just as delusional as Red MAGA. https://jacobin.com/2020/01/adam-schiff-warmonger-impeachment-ukraine-russia-syria

@Bargdaffy The data show Republicans take more from the defense companies, but the Dems do as well, just not as much. Until campaigns are mostly publicly funded (I'm not holding my breath), it won't change.

@KimPerales The Ds' are owned enough to swing Votes, that is for sure, so it really doesn't matter that the Rs' are a little more owned. https://theintercept.com/2021/09/03/democrats-defense-industry-military-budget/
