@anderspuck A lot is reported about Bakhmut - and whether it has been occupied by RUS forces or not. UKR denies.A thought (which I have not yet seen in the media): Could it be "fake news" from Prigozhin/Putin for the simple purpose of having a legitimate excuse to withdraw from an increasingly costly operation? Celebrate the "victory" and slip away again in order to release troops for a - we must assume - upcoming offensive from the Ukrainian side?

@8ruun It could be, but I suspect it's real. As I argued here, this does not mean the battle for Bakhmut is over. It is entirely possible that the Ukrainians have decided they'd rather continue the fight outside the city if they think they will have a better loss ratio there. https://krigskunst.social/@anderspuck/110406734539064852

@8ruun Of course that does not mean Prigozhin will actually be allowed by the MoD to leave the city. It will be interesting to see what will happen there.

@anderspuck Absolutely. He may also have been concerned about whether the UKR was in fact slowly encircling Bakhmut and his troops. But yes, the coming time will be interesting.
