@lowqualityfacts There is something to this actually. East is really the direction in which the Earth is rotating, so looking down on the North Pole it is counterclockwise (clockwise in the southern hemisphere). So you could say the four directions are north, south, clockwise and counterclockwise. But then we would have to agree on a reference pole, and that would be asking for trouble.
