I rarely use @signalapp but it has nagged me twice for a donation in a few days. 🤦♂️ #Signal Messenger is now officially #ShitWare.I only open it up to see if there are messages because notifications often don't show, but it still nags me.

@signalapp @happyborg So what DO you use as a daily driver messaging app? I agree that Signal has become less useful since they walled the garden by not allowing SMS.Do you have an alternative?

@NymanTech @signalapp I don't do much messaging full stop and Signal isn't great but it's been the one I choose and recommend for being least shit for years. In time I hope we will have better, truly secure, anonymous p2p for messaging and everything else (eg on #SafeNetwork when that's live).

@otso @NymanTech @happyborg @signalapp I never speculate on that but instead stay in touch with the updates and join in with the testnets as the pieces are coming together.

@otso @NymanTech @happyborg @signalapp There's a pull request ready to merge that adds NAT traversal using #libp2p so I'm hopeful the next testnet will be this week and give us the chance to see if people can run nodes behind a router.Any testnet will be announced on https://safenetforum.org if you'd like to join. It is simpler now than it has ever been to run a node, but you should make sure you have latest Rust first (using 'rustup update') to ensure you have latest libraries (no compiling).
