Yeah, there are a couple of funny things. -First the approach, we found this drug that messes with the chemicals in your brain, when some people take it they feel slightly better, therefore your brain chemistry was messed up. Pretty sure this approach is backward.-There has never been a test done on "brain chemistry" it's all been done the other way around. -Is there a standard of "normal" brain chemistry to be measured against?-Overwhelming evidence the gut plays a huge role in these brain chemicals is ignored.

It's basically what Japanese who grow up in Japan do. Immersed in both meaning and usage of words (what you recommend) while also studying the kanji itself at school. I couldn't read for shit. Reading basic bitch manga and learning compounds/whole words made me fare much better reading. I feel studying individual kanji is a waste of time as far as fluency goes.
