@maloki Maybe because your point is a little half-baked. 8 billion people require more than just food. But let's stay with that for the moment.Say merely redistributing food provides enough for everyone as you suggest. How do you suggest we solve the ecological harm that food production already does to the environment? It's a major factor in destroying the planet.What about logistical problems of distributing perishable goods around the world? And the ecological impact of that?

@kolya @maloki Every community takes control over their food production and use our energy to take care of their surroundings rather than exploit them. The people themselves aren't the problem. The exploitation is. We can live in ways that are symbiotic rather than parasitical.

@kolya @maloki Her main premise, as far as I can tell, was that population isn't the main factor in environmental destruction. I can't comment on any more on her own thoughts.Distribution could be part of that---better distribution could reduce waste---but we obviously need a better system of production as well. I don't think she'd deny that.You seem to be strawmanning her position. I don't see where she claimed distribution is the only problem in capitalist ecological relations.(Not sure if maloki's muted this subthread yet or not)

And @maloki did not elaborate on the latter.You have suggested "better distribution" and a "better system of production". Better how? "but we do have a population problem!!!"No, we don't, we have a distribution problem and a racial capitalist problem.We're in a world that's actively overproducing "useless stuff" that will never be used. We are in a world that's shredding food on site instead of distributing that food locally (bananas come to mind). We're in a world where it's often illegal to rescue edible food from the dumpster. Where is illegal to give your employees food that's about to expire, because it's a benefit and you have to pay/pay taxes on it. Where fresh bread are delivered by truck, and then returned to be scrapped, no one in the chain is allowed to take it home (we still did). But, if you indeed feel strongly about it lowering the population, get snipped. Don't reproduce. If you still want kids, don't until you understand why ecofacism is bad, because no one should pass _that_ on to their children.
