@signalapp What is the most efficient way to donate? In terms of losing money to fees, taxes, and other cuts. I'd guess Apple and Google pays would be the least preferred. Or am I wrong?

if they were releasing the whole thing end-to-end as 100% self-hostable free software, donations would make more sense. all these commercial e2ee apps require a cell phone to even register which inherently provides a way to violate people's real world identities. regardless of any other supposed privacy claims, the answer is just nope.

@signalapp The moment you got rid of SMS and MMS backward compatibility is the moment I quit using signal. I know it's not secure to do that but not everyone has it. The point was I could use one app to rule them all and now I'm stuck using several.

@signalapp I've repeatedly tried to donate to #signal and their payment processor or the software in front of it has repeatedly failed to recognise a correct security code on a valid credit card. Perhaps because it isn't a US credit card?
