There is no "one fork", and you can even go in the middle and create spork.But that doesn't matter, since the term "fork" is still extremely important to you for some reasons.

They both advocate for revolution or terrorism or a military coup to install a new government that has its favored people. The favored people are different on either side, and one may rightly claim that those long subjugated tend toward communism; while those who have long been subjugators tend toward absolutism… But in the end, I refuse to believe that the death of countless people is ever an acceptable means of establishing a government. A government born from bloodshed will endorse bloodshed. And that… That is something I find unacceptable.
