me in past many years ago when learning about IP (internet protocol, including IPv4 and IPv6) networking at courses and getting certs back then: most likely i will not need that stuff but well, i can learn for funsiesme in present day: I need IP networking in cloud computing platforms AS FUCK BIGLY but it is not physical routers and cables, but all is virtual: VIRTUAL networks, VNETs including private ones. meta-lesson learned: never diss knowledge that can be reused.

@Cosmic yez, albeit my cloud platform challenges related to networking are about configuration not coding/developing per se : imagine having many cloud constructs that need to be connected with private virtual endpoints/networks …

@DDT @CSB Most newbies today graduated a React bootcamp after their gender studies degree. Even if they can differentiate, they know next to nothing beyond that. They could not explain to me the layering model of network protocols: which wraps which, IP or TCP.
