What it feels like to me looking forward to #gaming in the current year. On the bright side, I'm buying a lot more #indiegames and having fun with them because they don't pull this kind of BS on me and just work.

@WMan22I don't have such feeling because i don't care about Denuvo and Steam Deck compability (instead of the Steam Deck i will buy the ROG Ally probably).I believe i have a six or seven Indies in my library and the rest are AA and AAA.

@the_white_wolf I outright hard boycott Denuvo after how much shit it gave me with MGSV, and how many bad PC ports with technical problems use it. As for the Rog ally, you do you, but I'm staying far away from ASUS after how badly they've been handling their motherboard division lately."I believe I have six or seven indies in my library and the rest are AA and AAA"Man that's rough. I don't even know how people can put up with the microtransaction abuse, broken launches and constant scandals.

@WMan22 @the_white_wolf "I believe I have six or seven indies in my library and the rest are AA and AAA"I remember doing the same about 10-15 years ago. But I feel like indie games back then were totally different from what's being released today. Modern indie games often come with high amounts of polish and at least IMO often have more interesting gameplay ideas than AAA titles.Usually not the most insane graphics, but I'm not really interested in that.

@WMan22 @the_white_wolf but while I kinda agree that microtransactions, day-one-patches and other drama has increased around AAA titles, there's still fun to be had and not all titles are affected.I have formed some strong opinions on titles that I'm not going to play either due to the copyprotection used, treatment of developers or other scandals. That doesn't mean that I'm never going to play a AAA game again. I kinda really want to start RE4 Remake. 😅

@mforesterYes indies are more innovative in gameplay often. My "problem" is that i love cineastic-presented stories with good/very graphic. And indies haven't the capability for this often. That's the reason why i'm a big fan of AA and AAA.I'm hoping that this will change with the Unreal Engine 5. Then i would play more Indies probably.@WMan22

@the_white_wolf @mforester If you're expecting me to give you any actual shit for having preferences, I'm not that kind of guy. I will say however that people should raise their standards a bit and say no to certain things so that they have more freedom in the long run.As for what happened with MGSV, Denuvo wouldn't let me play it in college because I didn't have access to an internet connection very often. It also caused stutters in the game, as it has been doing with games to this day.

@WMan22How did you know for sure that Denuvo made the stutters? Had you a version without Denuvo?I don't like Denuvo, too but i can understand why devs use it.I'm happy if a game doesn't use it but i can live with the other case, too. @mforester

@the_white_wolf Because, when people crack the denuvo games, they run better. Consistently too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXZGCwAJpbM Stutter is also a common issue among many games that use it.Not all PC ports with issues have Denuvo, but many modern PC ports that have issues also have Denuvo. Also, remember Darkspore? That game is no longer playable unless cracked because of Denuvo DRM. Performance issues are not the only reason to avoid games with Denuvo DRM. If it's in a game I won't buy it. Simple as.
