Folks with #OCD, actual Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour, folk who have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, those what have compulsive behaviours that are destructive to their life:Have any of you successfully halted a compulsive Behaviour, and if so, how? Again, only folk with OCD, that I am asking. Do not reply if you do not have destructive compulsive behaviours that you cannot easily control.

For context, I've had OCD that is markedly separate from my neurodivergencies, most of my life. I've struggled with this since I was pre-teen.It was in complete control of most aspects of my life around 18-20, living was very very difficult.I've worked on it and with it for over twenty years and at this point, I've compartmentalised it to very specific situations. Unfortunately that specific situation is "I am leaving the house for more than 6 hours". Leaving the house is a challenge and takes ages, so I would like to know if anyone's been successful at eradicating certain compulsions.I can't tell you how upsetting and demoralising it is when trying to leave my house for long periods. It took like 25 minutes to leave for the office this morning, a particularly bad one.I feel embarrassed talking about it, like what sort of person can't leave their house like a normal guy, but, hey.

I literally don't talk about this with anyone, not even partners, because it's embarrassing to me. So, hello internet I guess

I also generally hate talking about OCD to anyone because it's "oh yeah I'm a bit OCD too, I just love having things neat"

Anyway I'd love to work on this thing and I think I'm in a good state to do so. But no idea what's possible.

Yeah I have a therapist but I want us to focus on other traumas at the moment and I only have 50 minutes a week with her.
