@MikeTRose @jamesthomson Iâve had two Drobos and they both died. Or at least the power brick failed. Iâve been annoyed with them both.Currently, I use a Synology NAS and am happy with it. As a disk server it works great and accepts my TimeMachine backups. It can also run a bunch of other services I donât care too much about but may be of interest to you.

@MikeTRose @jamesthomson We were able to sell our still-functioning Drobos for a surprising amount of money on eBay AFTER the bankruptcy. All Synology all the way now.

@MikeTRose my 5D fan crapped out so it shuts off from overheating. Tried to DIY a fan replacement but theyâre fan has a custom connector and re-wiring failed. Itâs dead. :(

@MikeTRose I'm on my second QNAP NAS since 2009, and I'm pretty happy with it. It can do TM backups, although I haven't used it for that in ages: https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/tutorial/article/how-to-back-up-your-mac-to-qnap-nas-using-time-machine
