       @atanas The space savings could add up at Google scale. However, G's argument appears to be more aligned with potential abuse of abandoned accounts. I won't try judge that here right now.

       @lauren Makes sense. However, to prevent abuse, they can just disable the accounts if they're not planning to recycle the usernames.
