I never block people out of principle but I do like how this is one of the only block features which acts two way.If I were to block someone it would probably be because I didn't feel comfi around them, but just hiding their presence from me wouldn't solve dat.

@colinsmatt11 I think in theory you will be able to (in the future) subscribe to a tagging service, some of which might be manual, some might use AI. I don't know what the implementation on bsky.social is.

@sj_zero @alex These platforms are designed by hall monitors, for hall monitors...it should be no surprise that these features are the first ones to be added.Still, I think the hall monitor features in #Bluesky, from the outset, far surpass #Mastodon in helpfulness and effectiveness in a way that I'm pretty surprised by.

@realcaseyrollins @alex probably the difference between being backed by large for-profit investors allowing workers to earn a living wage, vs. doing it independently as a labor of love having to work a side-job as you are only funded by donations.

@Fu @alex IDK. Is a followable blacklist really that hard to write? And it's a feature that I've been advocating for for about 3 or 4 years so this isn't some like radical, wildly unique idea.

@realcaseyrollins @sj_zero @alex All the woke communists want to be on that platform, they are angry at Elon and can't adjust well to fedi. They want a nanny to shut out all opposing points of view. I don't see blue sky going anywhere but tits up eventually. The world does not need another social media platform.
