@lowqualityfacts Not far off. It used to be that to graduate from Georgia Tech (in Atlanta, not Atlantis), students had to pass a drown-proofing course successfully. As I recall, you were tossed in the pool in street clothes with your hands tied and you had to stay above water for something like 15 minutes. (If you sank, they fished you out and gave an automatic pass grade.)I don't know if GaTech still offers the course, but they did remove the requirement some time back.
