I use Firefox as my daily browser. I use it both on desktop and mobile. But it appears as we are in minority, by far, which can put the existence of Firefox in endanger. Welcome to try Firefox! Attached is an interesting article about Firefox in Swedish, by @nikkasystemsse https://nikkasystems.com/2023/05/14/microsoft-bing-kan-radda-firefox/ #firefox #browser #opensource

@hehemrin @nikkasystemsse Firefox is my primary browser as well, and nobody around me uses it at all. It's a great browser, so is it a marketing problem?

@hehemrin @nikkasystemsse Kära nån. Gillar Firefox skarpt. Schysstare ur integritetssynpunkt än många andra webbläsare.Om nån inte gjort det : testa gärna! Ladda ner här: https://www.mozilla.org/sv-SE/firefox/new/

@eisterkapelm I guess your guess is an important reason- esp if marketing includes what is pre-installed. I don't think Ff is pre-installed in any Windows, macOS or ChromeOS desktop, nor in almost any mobile iOS or Android. Firefox (and forks) is preinstalled in many Linux OS - but Linux desktop is only a small share of all desktops. So in short, if not Linux user, it requires an active decision to have Firefox (same active decision for some Chrome/Chromium-based forks).@nikkasystemsse

@hehemrin @nikkasystemsse I also use Firefox. Some of its features are unique: UI personalization (with custom CSS support), fully integrated themes, bookmark separators and tags, built-in screenshot tool. Containers! The only issue, it's a pain to move entire bookmark folders between profiles. I like to compartmentalize my browsing activities. So I use Firefox for productivity (email / calendar, work, learning) and Brave for general browsing. For mobile I prefer Brave, better site controls.

By the way, the post above in this thread was (like this one) written on Firefox desktop. And I got the linked article from Nikka Systems from my RSS-subscriptions in the Thunderbird mail client. #firefox #thunderbird #rss #opensource @nikkasystemsse
