I actually agree with Roman; they should call Wisconsin for Menken. You can’t get those votes back, so if those votes can’t be counted, they should be ignored, especially if they will not redo the votes over there.#Succession

@realcaseyrollins They said there was no legal precedent in Wisconsin. They did not know the extent of the fire damage yet. Remedies to cure the votes, abandon/ignore the votes, or hold a do-over election to recreate the votes had not been discussed or debated yet. It would not be up to ATN to decide there was no remedy.

@realcaseyrollins You heard right, they did say the votes were unrecoverable. But they were seeking justification for their desire to call the election, and I didn’t hear any credible evidence in the newsroom that this statement was true and verifiable. That’s why I don’t think it is the final word on the subject.

@eyebrowsgerri @realcaseyrollins Perhaps a slightly similar precedent was FL in the 2000 election. All the hanging chads and dimpled chads, etc., meant that they couldn't definitively call it -- and calling FL would have determined the winner. There were recounts and all kinds of ugliness, incl the so-called Brooks Bros riot, where a mob of corporate-type GOPs tried to shut down the recount. In the meantime, FL was not called. It went to SCOTUS, who decided in favor of Bush. Anyway, it would/ should never be up to a TV station to decide a disputed vote count/ winner.
