Back then, she was my favourite English writer. Once upon a time, she wrote great children's books, especially for girls. Now in my forties, Joanne Rowling is one of my favourite writers. She's brilliant, and I'm so grateful for her. The new movie is a standalone product and a blessing for team reality. Obviously, Judy Blume's stance on "trans" is very unfortunate, and the timing couldn't be worse.

Authors are not allowed to say "negative" things about a movie (Rick Riordan has said as much). More than that, they have certain publicity obligations. Actors (and sometimes authors) don't voluntarily show up on all those talk shows when a movie comes out, they are required to by contract. Hollywood is very controlling of the publicity machine. In our age of the shit-gurgling moron, I'm sure the contracts are made in a such as a way as to prohibit that sort of thing. Again JKR not only has FU money, she has FU contracts because her works were so popular and she was smart enough to negotiate hardcore.

I was given an "allergy medicine" and twice in one day called my dog by the wrong name. I immediately stopped taking the drug, but how many people are that self-aware?
