@ShekinahCanCook @SFRuminations In my family (librarian parents, both) it was index cards inserted in the books, later post-it notes to avoid page # references, which cards required. They worshipped the physicality and beauty of books, were deliberate in showing me how they were bound, even. Actually led me to some life-changing work, when I bugged a film guy about mistakes in his book. He hired me! Now, I’m with you, fuck it. I will write it here, now. :)

@goodthinking @SFRuminations For me it's a practical issue. If I just read something quickly or listen to an audiobook, I don't remember it later. I'm a visual learner. I actually find things in books by remembering what the *pattern* of underlines, stars and exclamation marks I put in the margins, and my comments on the page look like.

@goodthinking @SFRuminations Agreed, there are some books I would not write in. One is a lavishly illustrated volume of The Rubbiyat that was my father's and I would never write in it. But yeah, paperbacks? They're recyclable, compostable, and fair game.

Simply and directly, I can take a darker imoression of itin a happier leaning: some time after ‘the war’, Mother, still survives.Influencing me? 😊Earlier this morning, I started a new darker piece. (Ambient or more pounding instruments with grinding vocals, I haven’t yet leaned.)

At the same time, I’m able to hear acsoft tgough strong and direct feminine voice, reciting in an intentionally reserved though clear emotion. As well as an intense growling almost to slobber as the annunciations almost pierce your innee being as the truth is bared.The AI reflects the ferocity, so well! 😲😢🤬

On my bandcamp site, I have I believe 2 x short humour songs, that were made only, with my voice.Since I’er a wee one, I’ve loved impressionists such as (then) Rich Little (Canadian) and u.s.ian Johnathon Winters. (Since, hero Robin Williams, most of all. 😔 ) and many others.So over the years of course, I’ve cont8nually tried as well. Voices, accents and emotions.🤪😀😊

Over the following year, I finally learned well that ‘richness’ buys me _NOTHING!_The realization were quite depressing. Jobs lost, home and cars repossessed, and homelessness if you don't have friends or family who can take you in. All those social climbers will realize too late they had the wrong priorities.
