Had a busy day, a ‘photo shoot’ with gf, her brother and gf and parents in law. I’m not a photo person, at all but I think they turned out nice! So awkward that it made it funnyWeird thing though.. I asked for digital copies after we bought them but he only does paper :nkoFacepalm: Can’t do a thing with a paper photo and taking a picture of a picture results in big quality loss, I get that I don’t get the full RAW photos but something digital would be nice for some photo editing 🥹

Anyways, little tip before you book a photo session:If you want digital copies, make sure they will sell that.. :flan_laugh:

@stux If you hire a photographer that knows what they're doing, they'll give you a contract first telling you exactly what you're buying. *Usually* those contracts will include digital copies as well as some kind of packaged print offering. A prints-only offering would be... unusual these days.As you said, no photographer worth their salt will ever give you their RAW files if they have any respect for their own copyright.

@stux next time get a different photographer and tell the original one why you are switching. Or have the gf do it if you really are not into it

@stux and thats why the photographer does not do digital probably, he doesn’t want people to do their own editing. Which i would also not appreciate to be honest :)

@stux for my engagement and wedding photographer, this was a thing that I demanded. Still have the documentation where he released his rights to me. But you are right, make sure first.

@stux Google has an app for taking pictures of pictures. Generates a very good result. Requires you to take 4 or 5 photos from slightly different positions. And then it merges them together to correct distortions/glare/etc.
