@ned The vendor crime up 70% is what I questioned? What is vendor crime?

@ObeyTheCowGod I would guess that means the number of arrests. As in "vendor" in this context could mean police dept. IDK 🤷🏻‍♂️

@ned Vendor means a person that is selling to you. Customer is your customers. Internal is your staff and employees. Vendor is your suppliers, ie, you are the vendor's customer. These are the people you are buying off. As a retailer your vendor is your wholesaler. I never heard of vendor crime before. How does that even happen and how is it up 70%.Like WTF.

@ObeyTheCowGod no. The way I read this is there are the sources for the statistics. From the point of view of the department of justice. So internal is studies on crime statistics conducted by the department itself. External is studies conducted by a university or something. And vendor statistics is crime data obtained from their "vendors".The reason you want to compare across these different sources is because they have access to different types of data.

@ObeyTheCowGod looking at it again I probably am wrong.Maybe vendor crime is failing to pay wholesalers. Or scams that don't involve a customer. I run a website that sells broadcast gear. There is a scam that we are regularly subject to where a scammer sells an item on ebay they don't actually own for extremely low price. Then they purchase from us with a stolen credit card, and provide the shipping information from the ebay sale. What type of retail crime is that?

@ned Vendor crime, from what I can gather, is ether over charging or under supplying. That it is up 70% doesn't speak to it's absolute level. Vendor crime being up 70% could be nothing at all if the base level to begin with is small. But I don't know what that is, or even why it happens in the first place.

@ned Vendor crime is crime from a person who is a vendor."What type of retail crime is that?"I don't know if it even is a retail crime. It sounds complicated.
