@KimPerales I feel sorry for those workers, but I have no sympathy for those contractors. I work in construction. Many contractors specifically hire both legal and illegal works paying them below the going rates so they can pad their profits. Bills should be passed so that the contractors, not the works, pay the price for their hiring practices. It's not the worker's fault, they are just trying to make a living and feed their families

@KimPerales I'm no #DeathSantis supporter, but fining companies that hire undocumented employees is *definitely* the correct way of handling #illegalimmigration. 🤔

@MugsysRapSheet Yes, but there’s nothing to prevent the companies from absconding with their wages to pay the fine, firing them & calling on the feds to deport them. They should be treated fairly & humanely.

@KimPerales At the rates these contractors pay (and assuming they are caught early), there's no way workers earn $10,000 each in that amount of time, and I assume fined companies go on a watch list.

@MugsysRapSheet My impression of the way Republicans run Florida, is that there probably isn’t much enforcement. I know that undocumented workers are treated poorly & taken advantage of. And we all blame Republicans in Congress for the lack of any immigration reform, which is needed nationwide.

@KimPerales There was someone saying about the Russian dictatorship, that it would all be over for the rulers, if the Russian people just realized that they only had to all stand up together at the same time. @KimPerales Sounds like a problem for Florida voters. If their economy gets up and leaves because they elect white nationalist christo-fascists, well, sucks to be them. If the progressive voters can't get the non-voters to vote over stuff like this, then there's no point in trying to save Florida. It's a "shithole" state.
