Rather startling when you send a message to a site support email address about a technical matter that you can't figure out yourself, and even though it's late in the day you get a USEFUL personal response back from the founder of the company, with images showing you exactly what to do, and it works perfectly. Even more surprising that this happened with a U.S.-based company, which illustrates how far we've fallen.

@lauren I remember sending an inquiry into a generic support address for AudioNet (before it became broadcast.com) and getting a response directly from Mark Cuban. Of course that was long before anybody knew that name and he became a billionaire. I also once got a direct response on a support request from the head of Backblaze. Both responses were on point and helpful. Definitely worth a double take when it happens. Both my examples were many years ago though.

@lauren My father, in the 80s and early 90s, called the companies and asked. (He was pretty good with his computer: virtual disk, batch files to run it and save data, that kind of thing.)
