If you have 'The Great Suspender Original' Chrome extension installed - delete it. It is no longer available on the Chrome store because it hijacks the Google Results pages inserting an iframe from yellow-pages.com with your search term and inserts several, I'm assuming, paid adverts that look like organic results. Thought my SERP results were odd the last few days. 'The Great Suspender' extension (note lack of 'Original' in name) I think is ok - it is still in the Chrome store. #seo #chrome

@seth It got banned two years ago as the code got hijacked - but the original team apparently rebuilt it so I am assuming there were some lies going on to get it loaded into as many browsers as possible before they turned on the iframe. Nasty

@simoncox @seth Even better, Chrome has something similar built-in now: check out chrome://settings/performance for the memory saver function. I've only been using that in my personal profiles for a while now, it seems to work (aka it hasn't gotten in the way).

@johnmu @seth Oh that is good news John!I only started using Suspender end of last year and it helped a lot but I'm not happy it's been swapping out my SERPs!

@simoncox @seth I've gotten super-weary of any extension that has access to pages I care about, anything with my active accounts essentially. I try to only use those in testing-profiles. I don't expect them to go rogue, but the potential impact is gigantic.
