       @jabberati @selea Matrix (well Element, but they're under the same org), coming out as weirdly pro-cop has put a bad taste in my mouth. But I switched from XMPP because it sucked as a modern chat protocol. I'm not sure what else is out there for self hosted solutions.

       @aaron @jabberati @selea no they aren't, they are very separate entities...This would be kind of like saying twitter and bluesky are the same thing...They are created by same founder and might  have similar ideas but otherwise they are very separate entities with separate interests.As said on element website it is based off matrix.Plus I don't use anything related to element using fluffychat, and conduit as my homeserver.Element is to blame

       @aaron @jabberati @selea I keep my matrix.org account with matrix.org, I rarely use it and mainly use my own homeserver account.I use my matrix.org with schildichat Element is kind of like mastodon.socialI use my own service with fluffychat

       @aaron @fbievan @jabberati I know that element themselves does not want to be majority of the funders of the matrix foundation. Hopefully that changes soon,
