My new approach to the low iron is just to eat chicken liver mousse pretty much every morning on toast. It's actually pretty decent, except for the part where I'm eating it almost every day. My ferritin is up to 27 which is the highest it's ever been. My saturation though is still at 17% and it should be at least 35. 15% is the lowest for their so-called healthy range. I'll have it checked again in 3 months and see what's happening.

@polarisera yes always. My vitamin D is good, my B12 is good. I think I've always had low iron my whole life. Even when I was a kid and we ate beef almost every night for dinner. I was always covered in bruises for nothing. My iron right now is actually the highest it's ever been.

@TheWitchBitch I’ve been struggling with my iron as well. I’ve always been scared to try liver, but I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s time to give it a shot

@Sapphoro me too. It took a long time for me to finally just do it. And actually it really doesn't have any flavor. The chicken liver is milder in flavor and it's cheap and easy to get. Just soak it in milk for 30 minutes then throw the milk away. Then you can cook it up and make mousse or you could cut it into little pieces season it bread it and fry it up and it's not too bad with some hot sauce. You can also grind it up and put it into other things like soups braces ground beef. I can make a large batch of liver mousse for not a lot of money and freeze it and small containers. Chicken liver has 30% of vitamin C DV for a serving as well as all your daily iron. That's three and a half ounces. It has the vitamin C that you need to absorb the iron which is nice.
