It did not "lie" or "backtrack" because in the machine the text has no meaning.  It didn't "learn" anything when you argued with it.  It added new words that sound right after your "no you're wrong" response.  You are not teaching anything.  You are not learning anything.  You are arguing with a distorted echo.
