To give it some context: I'm 55, female, mixed race (sephardi and a small percentage AA - but I pass easily for white), and a vocal advocate of several social justice issues. Was having a discussion earlier today about Mastodon vis-a-vis activism.Do you find the Fediverse / Mastodon hard to use in any way? Do you get harassed by other users here when you speak out? Do you feel like the moderation is effective?If you had / have a twitter account, did you get a lot of harassment there? Do you like here better than twitter? Worse? About the same? Do you have a facebook account, and if so, how do you think it compares to facebook in regards to harassment and racism? Thanks, and I understand if you don't want to talk about it. 💜

@StillIRise1963 barely restrained myself from putting hands on my purity politics niece when she wailed about Roe v Wade getting overturned. Instead I just told her she got what her entitled little self voted for and to shut up until she was no longer part of the problem.

@StillIRise1963 I'm old enough to remember the election of 1968 where people saying they refused to vote for "the lesser of two evils" helped Richard Nixon become president. People are willfully blind to the fact that if they pull that crap, we (and they) end up with the *worse* of two evils, often much worse.

@StillIRise1963 Like, there's a reason the last presidential election had the highest turnout in 60 years. I mean, the last guy was holding neofascist rallies, trying to make himself president for life and threatening to nuke everybody every other week.
