@thegibson Basic laws of nature. Time and time again this happens. What’s worse? You’ll remodel and the people after you won’t even like it. So they will rip it all out and change it. 👍So take solace in knowing that what you did is likely to be destroyed lol. Building contractor perspective.

@feld I swear it’s pointless I mean when I was remodeling that then decided to sell? I was like hmm how much will this damage the listing price? Turns out? None. So like it’s really sad, we spend all this money just to make waste. Like we wonder why houses cost so much now? Add all the incremental waste and that adds up. That addition means we just flood money into houses needlessly and don’t do the maint required. That was my specialty, I billed by the hour to fix the shit no one wanted to fix till it was catastrophic. Like 1 more year on one house? The entire roof would have had to be torn off. The rot was almost inside the framing. The main beams would have had to be rebuilt. Ohh but the Swedish finish on their floor they had redone 3 times was more important? Yes this was my uncles house so I lit his ass up on the rot. I’m like dude you got a 2 million house. This is gonna go real real bad man. He was like what? I can’t see that? Oof, now like most people I just waited till it’s catastrophe. Like the roof I subbed out to redo on Whidbey. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Houses need sealants, paint and maint. The basic stuff is overlooked the most. Like when I sent the video to my client saying hey look, your scabbed in roof is jumping up and down in the wind. The entire thing is rotted lol.

Americans won't buy houses unless they look nice, and then they'll just destroy them to make them look the way they wanted immediately after buying. (which also makes their mortgage higher, as they include the remodeling in their loan)It's so stupid.

@feld Ohh they bought mine that looked nice with 1 room not complete. Then just destroyed the whole thing. So in that way? It doesn’t matter.
