Hiya.Quick guide for my friends as I've been locked out of OTHER PLACE for a week so I got my head round this one.1. On Web put it on Advanced View in your settings. I don't know ios but on Android get Tusky.2. The locals are really nervous of us all rolling up with our toxicity, This has been a real safe space for trans/BLM/socialism supports- tread carefully and maybe spend some time reading existing users. 3/?6. Each "instance" is run by volunteers, sometimes just one person. That's why they get full. That's why they're seperated. One human can only moderate so much, they're proud of human moderation. 7. On AV if you click the globe top left that's your federated tl. I thought that was everyone BUT it's everyone everyone on your instance follows. The reason for this again is moderation. If I follow someone spouting hate speech my moderator can kick me off. The mod needs that connection.

6/6 That's it for now.Oh - following people is a bit weird- you often have to cut and paste their @ into your search bar- takes longer but actually I think one of the reasons things are softer here is things DO take longer.You have to think about your posts slightly more- does it need a CW? How do i find that person? Do i NEED to quote boost etc etc Please look around, I've found some people on here I didn;t know before who I adore.:)
