#TIL the differences between slice(), substr(), and substring() in #javascript . I've used all of them in the past and didn't quite know whether I was using the right one. Apparently slice() is the one to use for most things now-- substr() is deprecated and substring() doesn't take negative numbers.https://notes.nicolevanderhoeven.com/String+manipulation+in+js

@nicole To be honest, I find .slice() also the most straightforward.
