@lauren Just after they mocked the American pronunciation of “mall” I once asked someone from London “what do you call this thing one hangs pictures on?”, tapping a nearby wall.The look on their face as they said “A …wall?” was priceless.

@lauren Mall when it’s a shoping place is pronounced mawl. The Mall ie the road leading to Buckingham Palace ispronounced Mall like pal. Hope that helps! 😎

@oldgit Well, here we have shopping malls and we have open spaces like the National Mall. But they're both mawls.
