OK. :: sets down suitcase :: Looks like I've moved over here from mastodon.social.Seem to have lost my follows, but I think I can rebuild that.So how about a little introduction post? I have a partner, a 10-year old son, two Schipperkes, and five hens.Interests:- Social democratic/progressive politics (#politics, #uspol)- The moral panic about trans youth and adults (#transphobia)- Climate (#ClimateCrisis, #climate)- Open source/Linux (#linux)- Music/woodwinds/saxophone (#saxophone)- Visual astronomy/reflectors (#astronomy)The question I ask myself a lot these days is, how do we survive the next century cooperatively? I'm alarmed by the risk of authoritarianism here in the US.

@dana Hi!Can you export (settings -> export) your following .csv file from mastodon.social then (settings -> import) upload it here? It's not the same as transferring account but it's a good start.

@dana There is also a account transfer feature of the #Fediverse - that actually moves follwings, but I have never done it so I can't help with that!

@ArtBear @dana Yep! Check out Account Migration in settings. If you need any help just ask. This way you can automatically transfer your followers too, without them having to follow you again! But your old account will be locked (and redirecting to your new one).

@panos @dana btw, I don't think I can do migration. My Mastodon account is on mastodonapp.uk - which is defederated from here at calckey.social . So I think doing that would break everything or mess up lots of my followers & stuff and I'm unsure of what to do about it & how to not lose touch with people I'm used to seeing everyday actually.Kind of running 2 accounts while I try and get an idea of what I'm going to do, but it's not very convenient being split.

@panos @dana I really wanted to be on calckey.social but that would mean losing touch with people on mastodonapp.uk - or running 2 accounts. It's a real dilemma. Do servers re-federate eventually? If they've sorted out whatever event (I don't understand what happened).
