       Oi! #jitsi wizards!I am trying to convince a large community, running regular online meditation/webinars (non-religious, though) via Zoom, to change into some other platform. They say:Since we often have more than 300 people (and for some events, up to 1000) simulcasting from all over the globe, stability and accessibility has become our biggest concern, because without it our ability to consistently relax into ritual space with people of varying levels of access is severed instantly.Would it be possible to fulfill such needs with a self-hosted Jitsi instance? Or perhaps some other Platform? What kind of hosting would be needed for that?

       @8petros I don't get what their setup is. They have 300-1000 people sending video to a chat room? If so, who views which of these streams? (I don't think I could fit 300 streams on my screen at more than a thumbnail size.)

       @8petros przydałoby się sporo zasobów - na pewno RAMu. Na self-hostowanym jitsi dla potrzeb wewnętrznych firmy (rząd wielkości podobny) bywały problemy już przy kilkunastu osobach na połączeniu naraz... Ale fakt, że nie znałam dokładnie ilości przydzielonych zasobów, podejrzewam, że było za mało zwyczajnie. Dużo za mało :P

       @8petros Moderation tools on jitsi aren't that great, really. I'm not sure anything foss/self-hosted other than - maybe - BigBlueButton could fill in that role, and even that's a big ifAlso, hi from @hswaw :ablobcatwink:​

       @8petros While the Jitsi Videobridge home page suggests it can handle the thousand-participant call on one server, be aware this kind of scale often requires a skilled team to keep the wheels on!
