       @Bangladesh @bengali_convo @mastindia একটা কথা প্লিজ কিছু মনে করবেন না। পাকিস্তান আমলের শুরুর দিকে নাকি পূর্ব বাংলারও অনেক বুদ্ধিজীবী ভারতীয় স্বাধীনতার বিপ্লবী ধারাটির প্রতি সহানুভূতিশীল ছিলেন না? যেমন, খন্দোকার ইলিয়াসের 'ভাসানী যখন ইউরোপে' বইটি নিষিদ্ধ করতে গিয়ে মন্তব্য করা হয়, এই বইতে সূর্য সেনের প্রশংসা আছে কিন্তু সূর্য সেনরা ডাকাত ছাড়া আর কিছু না। আবার, ১৯৫৭-এর ঐতিহাসিক কাগমারী সম্মেলনে ভাসানী দুটি গেট মহাত্মা গান্ধী ও সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর নামে নামকরণ করায় অনেকেই নাকি রুষ্ট হয়েছিলেন। মানিক মিয়া তাঁর সম্পাদকীয়তে প্রকারান্তরে সুভাষচন্দ্রকে পাটিস্তানে অবাঞ্ছিত বোঝাতে চেয়েছিলেন। তাই ওই প্রশ্নটি করলাম। কিছু মনে করবেন না।

       এই প্রসঙ্গের তাৎপর্য কি বলতে চাইছিস? এ জিনিস এপার ওপার বাংলায় কেন, গোটা উপমহাদেশে অজস্র পাবি। আমাদের বাঙালীদের মধ্যে যদি আমরা সাহেবদের মত সামগ্রিক ভাবে একজোট একপ্রাণ হতে পারতাম, তাহলে বাংলাভাগ হত না, উদ্বাস্তু হতে হতে না, তামাম বাংলা জাপান কোরিয়ার লেভেলে প্রথম বিশ্বের দেশগুলোর সঙ্গে চোখে চোখ রাখত। এককালে তাই তো ছিল। সুবে বাংলা ফার্স্ট ওয়ার্ল্ড, ইউরোপের নয়নের মণি, নাহলে কম দেশের নৌকো ভিড়েছে চট্টগ্রাম থেকে তাম্রলিপ্তে?

       @bengali_convo @mastindia সূর্যসেন ছিলেন শিক্ষক তিনি তাঁর ৬৫ জন ছাত্রছাত্রী নিয়ে নাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন ব্রিটিশ সরকারের ভিত। চট্টগ্রাম অস্ত্রাগার লুন্ঠনের পর চরম অত্যাচারে দাঁত হাতুড়ি দিয়ে ভেঙে ও নখ টেনে উঠিয়ে দেওয়া হলেও তিনি মাথা নত করেননি। মাথা নোয়ায়নি তাঁর ছাত্রছাত্রীরাও। স্বাধীন ভারতবর্ষের স্বপ্ন দেখেছিলেন তারা।স্বার্থের রাজনীতিতে চট্টগ্রামের সেই নেতা এখন ইতিহাস। শুধু ইতিহাসই হয়ে রবে। বীর চট্রলায় এমন নেতা কি আর জন্ম নিবে???

       interesting! i guess that will be what i read up today during my breaks. i was aware of the divide between pakistan and bangladesh but not that the language was a key aspect in forming a separate state

       Thank you for the links, i enjoy reading about the world as my toilet lecture. Guess it replaced the printed media. On of my favorites over the last year's was Douglas bottings account of Socotra. Looks like now I'll go to east Asia for some time
