@stux There's so much that could go wrong with this scenario it has actually been a SciFi trope for decades :) I seem to remember at least a couple Star Trek (original series) episodes exploring this. It *is* an interesting topic though.

@stux I actually work for local governments. Trying to help them avoid making huge mistakes jumping into the open source and cloud native world. I stay away from the politics as much as I can, but sometimes I am that awful gatekeeper that will not put something in production (usually privacy and / or security reasons) and than I am in the spotlight of the political arena. I usually just stick to the facts, explain and repeat them.

@stux You can't solve politics with AI because politics is a higher-level problem tied to philosophy. Sorry, but philosophers have spent millennia and they cannot solve this exact problem you think you can solve with programming. Maybe at the very least hear what they have to say first?

@stux please rethink this. I get that other people are frustrating and that figuring out how to get along (aka politics) is fiendishly difficult. But it is profoundly worthwhile. If you haven't read it already, I strongly recommend Rebecca Solnit's A Paradise Built in Hell, which makes a compelling argument in the anarchist tradition for how participating in government fulfills a core human need; we are incomplete and lesser without it.
