love whenever a new "fold" smartphone comes out, because it starts that clock on "how awful does that fold bit look after 6 months of constant use?"

@siege I just want an E-Ink display phone, but apparently that's too much to ask, even when decent color screens exist now. :(

@NanoBookReview @siege wasn’t there some “minimalist” lite cell phone with e-ink?

@dave0 @siege There was also a dual screen phone where one side was a normal screen and the other side was E-Ink, but I learned about that one after it was out of production.I'd totally go for that phone you shared, if I wasn't stuck in bed! I love minimalist design, but I'm forced to use my phone for everything, so it's not practical in my use case.I'm gonna share this with a friend who might be interested though.

@NanoBookReview @dave0 @siege I wouldn't mind a phone that uses either Sharp's MemoryLCD (black/white, transflective, extreme power saving, excellent contrast) or the newer LTPS LCD technology (also transflective, limited color - usually around 64 or lower, also extreme power savings). They are kinda similar to eInk in that they save power when displaying static images. Unlike eInk they *do* require power to keep the image refreshed - but the refresh is so slow, the battery can lasts for days.
