Answer: they are all taken in cities named #Manchester, not the one in UK, but in 4 different New England states: New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts respectively. The Tampere connection is that Tampere is also known as "Manchester of the North" 🙂@zhenech @ebauche @make

@fredonline @ebauche I was wondering about that tax introduced on "April 1" ... :DWell, it's a bummer, but US hotels are way worse at piling on all kinds of taxes and fees so that if you book a hotel room for 100$ you end up paying 160$.I'll pay the 1£ per room per night :)

@duckwhistle @cybette I'm sure it's the same in my home country (Ireland). Lots of Bally... towns. But then each Newcastle town no doubt popped up around a "new castle" 😁 I suspect the 9+ Newcastle towns in the US never had anything like a castle in their city limits 😂I suspect if humans eventually colonise another planet we'll probably see a similar lack of imagination - New Berlin, Mars etc etc

@cybette @ebauche Yep, you got that right! It's been a few years since I've stayed in a hotel in the US, also tipping virtually everyone that provides a service means you have to budget way and above what you would expect to pay in the UK.
