Thankfully the producer and creator, Jet, got into the call and got him to leave under the pretext of an NDA, which was clearly bullshit, but saved his face and Jon.NEVER trust kiwifarmers, no matter how nice they are, they are only trying to fuck over, because they hate anyone that’s better off than them. Something occurred to me, it seems we’re having an obvious post-4chan age schism where since the Fediverse is becoming more relevant and 4chan is pretty much dying, we have this weird vacuum where people are trying to define “the line,” the general social contract that we’re to adhere to. Kiwis have a very weird stance on being anonymous that boils down to "if you slip up once, we'll make it public record" that applies even to forum users most of the time. Joshes official stance on the matter is that you should essentially "post like you're going to have your real name and face next to every post you make". Making things worse is the site's parallels to the culture of ED, which is only lower profile because it's a old dead site these days. Essentially they're just one small step above the IP2/shock jock "armies" who literally just want "content" at all costs.Then you look at the fedi, and for the most part there are people who want privacy, even if on the fedi it's privacy through obscurity due to the design of the fedi.

4chan is interesting because on one hand, it's living on borrowed time. The /qa/ board being frozen in a limbo state for years now because of the great *ack* raid on /lgbt/ was the writing on the wall for many who weren't convinced by all the "tranny jannies" banning people again or censoring topics, because of all the boards that /qa/ raided the only one that got them shut down was when they raided /lgbt/. Of course this led to them like rdrama migrating offsite to soyjak.party, and I read a good point about the entire soyjak posting craze; it's a troll response to 4chan jannies shutting down any attempts to have discussion. On the other hand, despite all the censorship, banned topics, and jannies fucking with/deleting threads that piss them off, 4chan is still the largest anonymous or "anonymous" imageboard. Though with the arrests of anyone rageposting about Sheriff Chitwood from "anonymous posts", I think that in time is going to die off too the more people like him power trip.

The fedi is really 4chan's current replacement (when anonymity is not needed as much), moreso on the dissident right (as /pol/ is snuffed out) where fedi effortposts spread on Discord/Twitter instead of /pol/ greentexts.I'm sure much of it is due to jannies, users being paranoid that everyone else is a bot/shill (see the dead internet theory originating on 4chan), and users choosing to migrate offsite. The other thing that really killed imageboard culture as well was the dramafagging that went on in the webring, and the fact the webring was much more vulnerable to attacks than something like the fedi is. There was a time when wheelchair cripple was being pettier than an ex (and on the level of Liz with KF) with trying to shutdown imagboard culture for good, and I mean while Liz mostly focused on KF under the guise that it would snuff out trolls for good, wheelchair cripple was trying to cause as much damage as possible. And then of course there was tons of dumb shit like the whole saga with Mark and /v/. And the thing with imageboards is, nobody likes a dead one where you can read posts from 3-4 years ago still on the catalog unless it's hilariously trying to be an archive like u18chan of all places is.
