       Hm. The mastodon lol situation is a microcosm of how whiteness operates. White people would rather destroy entire communities than reflect and their behavior for the betterment of the world around them.And these same people will bitterly complain about how ‘divisive’ the expectation of being held accountable is. That's straight up colonialism.

       @Are0h I'm don't really know what happened at mastodon lol - but colonialism would imply - in my mind, anyways - that it was an established space, belonging to others, who whites came in and took for themselves

       @fcktheworld587 @Are0h There's some overlap.Take the Drag community, for example. Pretty diverse crowd, but a -lot- of the fashion, mannerisms, and slang came from POC within the community.And we keep finding videos on social media of the whitest of the whites using that slang in the whitest of ways, very clearly unaware of how or why said slang came to be. To them, it's just theirs now. Planted the flag. Claimed the "undiscovered territory," if you will.
