       Thread:2 years ago this week, my life changed unexpectedly and dramatically. I can't talk about the event itself, but I can talk about my journey since, including the challenges I've had "just asking for help" as many people have encouraged me to do.

       "Just" asking for #help has never come easy to me, and it's not out of pride. I have simply never known how. It always seemed, whether at home or school or workplaces, that "just" asking came laden with hidden expectations. There was "a way" to ask, or only certain things that were acceptable to ask, or I needed to have something to offer (that I never seemed able to sufficiently identify) either before or following the ask.

       Over time, even simple, legitimate "no's" felt tinged with judgment, and I learned not to trust either myself or others. So, I stopped asking in favor of endlessly trying to "prove" myself capable, self-sufficient, and yes, worthy.This was my "normal" for a lot of years. I've only recently realized that I was never the problem, but I still feel challenged to know what or how to ask.

       I know now that it's a matter of practice, so here's a try:I'm looking for support to start up and launch this project I believe pretty strongly in -- deeper coverage of the intersection of technology (especially the emerging kind), law, and society.This is a project I started a few years ago but haven't had enough time or space to follow through on till now.
