I am not understanding what #calckey is. 1. It seems like it is a rewrite/alternative server to the mastodon server. Looks to be written in Rust. It is a fork of #misskey, which seems to be written in typsescript2. But since it uses ActvityPub, it's interoperable with Mastodon 3. Seems like you can't migrate your Mastodon account over. So basically an alternative microblogging interface to the fediverse with different server software. This is getting really interesting and 🤯

It is really starting to show the power of the Fediverse. We don't even have to use the same backend server to talk and be friends with each other. But I guess this also means they are free to implement blocklists and such however they want. And Mastodon admins actually have to worry about ALL servers in the Fediverse. Meaning blocklists need to include pixelfed, calckey, misskey, and any new ActivityFeed server types that show upWow, just wow

As for blocklists, they're actually a terrible concept that is mostly used by Mastodon admins. The rest of the Fediverse generally thinks it's a pathetic means for Masto admins to try and pretend they have special powers.Blocklists themselves don't really care for the type of server you're running, though, they work on hostname basis.

One last realization. This means, that as long as I use ActivityFeed (or #ActivityPub still haven't dug in to that level yet), I could write my own custom client to ALL THE FEDIVERSE - not just Mastodon. For example, I could write GISkey, it could be a client focused on sharing maps, GIS data, and prefilters to only show fediverse posts tagged with #GIS. Still need to think through this more.Am I grokking this correctly. Help me @andypiper, @evan you two are my only hope 😄
